The bridge between science and industry. Between East and West.
WBH – Dr. Alexander Krugljakow connects leading-edge metallurgical research with European manufacturing: from scientific assessment through commercial agency to order placement.
Solve materials problems. Run tooling longer.
You manufacture and require tool life, process reliability and sound technical decisions. We assess materials scientifically – and bring proven solutions into your production.
View this path AYour technology into the European market.
You hold a materials or process innovation and are seeking access to German and European industry. As a commercial agent (sections 84 et seq. of the German Commercial Code (HGB)) we build the bridge – legally secure and backed by a robust network.
View this path BHeat and deformation forces destroy tools. That is exactly where science comes in.
During the hot forming of copper and non-ferrous metal alloys, conventional hot-work steels soften under the process heat – tools wear quickly, and scrap and downtime increase. This is exactly where our materials development comes in.
Heat & wear
At high forming temperatures conventional tool steels lose their strength – the most expensive variable on any press line.
Short tool life
Frequent tool changes mean downtime, rework and rising unit costs.
Lack of assessment
Without a sound metallurgical analysis, material selection remains an expensive guessing game.
Materials that perform under load.
Dr. Krugljakow develops high-performance tooling materials and processes for strengthening them – from the initial idea through the patent to introduction in live production.
Several of these developments are in use today with industrial partners in Europe and the CIS region; further projects are currently under way.
Details after confidentiality
Specific materials, processes and plant results are discussed once a mutual non-disclosure agreement is in place. That protects your developments and ours.

Scientific consultancy
Technical assessment of materials, metallurgy and processes: feasibility, benefit potential and a sound basis for decisions – including technical dossiers and expert reports.
Process support
Structured support from confidentiality through technical dossier, specialist workshop and pilot trial to a robust contract.
Confidentiality
Mutual NDA as the foundation.
Dossier & review
Technical dossier, intellectual property rights, publications.

An innovation becomes a market – if someone builds the bridge.
An outstanding materials or process technology from the CIS region encounters language barriers, different standards, closed networks and legal hurdles in Europe. WBH takes on precisely this bridging role – scientifically grounded and proven over nearly four decades.
Access to the EU market
A direct line to the German and European metallurgy and manufacturing industry.
Legally secure representation
Commercial agency under sections 84 et seq. of the German Commercial Code (HGB): initiation, negotiation and support through to order placement.
A bilingual bridge
Negotiation and documentation in German, Russian and English – without friction losses.
German manufacturers already trust this bridge.
As commercial agent for established German manufacturers, WBH organises deliveries and market access – including for:
From St. Petersburg to the German plant.

Industrial use, confirmed in the works assessment.
This story is the proof of the model: a scientific innovation from the East was assessed, adapted and successfully introduced into German industry via WBH – with a measurable result.
The same approach is open to technology providers today: we assess your technology scientifically, position it in the right market segment and represent your interests through to the contract.
Nearly five decades, named results.

Prof. Dr. Alexander Krugljakow
Materials scientist and entrepreneur. Nearly two decades in research and teaching – most recently as professor at the Chair of Materials Science of the State Marine Technical University St. Petersburg – and, since 1992, founder and owner of WBH in Berlin.
Founder of a new class of tool steels and of a metallurgical effect co-named after him. He combines scientific depth with nearly four decades of negotiation and market experience between Western and Eastern Europe – in German, Russian and English.
Answered briefly.
What does Dr. Krugljakow research?
He develops high-performance tooling materials and processes for strengthening them. Several developments are patented and in use with industrial partners; specifics are discussed once a non-disclosure agreement is in place.
How are the results substantiated?
Through works assessments by the companies involved: tool life is measured in live operation and compared against the reference previously in use. The results exist and are disclosed under a non-disclosure agreement.
What does WBH do?
Since 1992, WBH – Dr. Alexander Krugljakow has combined scientific consultancy (materials assessment, expert reports) with commercial agency under sections 84 et seq. HGB — a bridge between science and industry, between East and West.
How does an engagement begin?
In five steps: mutual confidentiality (NDA), technical dossier & review, specialist workshop, pilot & benchmark, term sheet & contract. Direct contact is with Dr. Krugljakow personally.
Let us talk about your project.
